Public lecture by Prof. Seung Chul Kim
Prof. Seung Chul Kim, Professor of Systematic Theology in the Faculty of Arts & Letters of Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan and Permanent Research Fellow at the Nanzan Institute for Religion and Culture, will give a lecture on «Gott und Śūnyatā - das Gottesverständnis im Dialog mit dem Buddhismus und der Naturwissenschaft».
The lecture will consider what sorts of insights the Christian doctrine of God can gain from dialogue with Buddhism and with scientific worldviews. In Buddhism, the concept of the emptiness (Śūnyatā) of all reality plays a central role. Is it possible to think of God in non-substantial and impersonal categories?
