You are interested in the doctoral studies at the Theological Faculty of Basel?
In Basel there are two possibilities to attain a Doctorate degree in theology.
The doctorate is composed of the dissertation, attendance of continuing education courses (18 credit points (ECTS)) and a doctoral examination. The doctoral training usually takes 3-4 years. Depending on the study requirements, the Faculty of Theology awards a Dr. theol or a PhD degree.
The doctorate is completed in a structured manner within the framework of the "Basel Graduate School of Theology". The Graduate School forms the umbrella under which the doctoral training takes place. All doctoral students of the Faculty of Theology are part of the Graduate School of Theology. Quality in Doctoral Education:
The university is constantly evaluating doctoral studies and doctoral education at the university. The aim is to secure the quality, improvement and advancement of the doctoral education.
The faculty follows the quality management process of the university.
One important aspect is the evaluation of the doctoral education in the counseling process with the Scientific Advisory Board.
