Julia Rhyder to begin professorship at Harvard
Dr. Julia Rhyder, a post-doctoral fellow in the Faculty of Theology, will begin a position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University. Dr. Rhyder has worked at the University of Basel's Faculty of Theology since 2018 as an instructor and post-doctoral researcher in the department of Hebrew Bible and Semitic Linguistics. At Harvard, Dr. Rhyder will teach in the field of Hebrew Bible and continue her research on festivals and war commemoration in Hellenistic Judaism. She will maintain her connections to the Faculty of Theology in Basel as an external partner in the research project "Transforming Memories of Collective Violence in the Hebrew Bible".
