The 7th Graduate Meeting on the Hebrew Bible (Textual, Literary and Social Issues in the Formation of the Hebrew Bible: Swiss, French and German Insights) took place in Basel for the first time this year. From 17-19 May 2018, the researchers met at the Frey-Grynaeisches Institut of the Faculty of Theology. Together with colleagues from the Université de Lausanne and the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, intensive discussions were held on current research projects in an international dialogue.
Among other things, the contributions presented and discussed literary-historical problems relating to the origin of the Hexateuch and the Book of Esther, questions regarding the interpretation of Psalms, intertextual references in Tobit and Jesus Sirach as well as the origins of the Sabbath and the Levites.

The international cooperation continued its profitable work at a high level; new perspectives were also gained during the supporting programme: In addition to a guided tour of the Frey-Grynaeum's unique scholar's library with its impressive history, the history of Hebrew book printing in Basel could be traced during a lecture in the university library using numerous valuable prints.
The organisers would like to thank Prof. Dr. Mosés Mayordomo, lecturer at the Frey-Grynaeum Institute, for his hospitality, Susanne Schaub, head of the Theological Library, for the guided tour and Dr. Ueli Dill, head of the Manuscripts and Old Prints Department, for the presentation in the University Library.
